Joey is our Wednesday Group Session Guitar teacher – suited to Beginner/Intermediate. He is also available for Individual Sessions by appointment.
As a teacher Joey encourages students to develop their own style, he himself is heavily influenced by hard rock, but has proficient knowledge in many styles and is happy to work with students on any genre. He's got loads of exercises to improve your rhythm/lead technique and is a great songwriter.
He started playing the acoustic guitar at the age of six, exposed to influential artists such as Led-Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Dire Straights & Eric Clapton. At fifteen he realised the potential of the electric guitar and immediately became obsessed with punk rock from the late 70s and 80s.
He’s travelled around performing in a lot of different situations, writing his own material and playing with bands in and around Melbourne. He’s never stopped playing music, and is currently writing and recording songs for different projects. His focal project in rehearsals and the studio at present is his emerging band
'The Great Unloved'.
