As part of a musical family, it’s not surprising that Hannah has been playing music most of her life. After studying contemporary music at the Queensland Conservatorium, Hannah relocated to Melbourne to pursue her passion.
Releasing two solo EPs early on, Hannah teamed up with her younger brother Dan, to form folk duo The Acfields. Going on to release two full-length albums and an EP over the course of six years, it had become time for her to step out on her own once again. With Hannah garnering a clutch of songwriting awards, Hannah’s debut, solo long-player “No Light Without Shade”, has a sense of power. A talented musician who is both adept and versatile, encompassing multiple instruments into her lexicon, this exceptional vocalist and songwriter has been described as “a luscious blend of Aretha Franklin and Joni Mitchell”.
Touring extensively throughout Australia and overseas, supporting great artists such as Joan Armatrading, Josh Pyke and Vika and Linda Bull, Hannah has performed at various festivals including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Summer of Soul and Falls Festival. A highlight was receiving a standing ovation from a 5000-person audience at Port Fairy Folk Festival for a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘Pressing On’.
Leaving audiences in awe with her versatile voice that has the ability to sing across many genres including soul, blues, folk and gospel, Hannah welcomes the opportunity to embellish our students vocal abilities, song writing skills and performance qualities.
