Piano

An honours student at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, KayKay graduated from ANU School of Music studying both Piano Performance and Composition in 2021, as a recipient of the Dennis Griffin Piano Undergraduate Scholarship.

KayKays passion for music began when he first played the piano at the age of five. With a long list of awards including taking First Prize in the Chopin International Youth Piano Competition in 2014, then becoming a finalist in the 2015 "Music Ambassador" National Piano Competition, Kaykay’s achievements launched early. More recently, KayKay has been a finalist in Australian Artology’s Fanfare Competition, has given a piano recital at Embassy of Hungary, in Canberra, and performed at the Canberra Theatre Centre. Amongst these accomplishments, his original orchestral work, Fanfare Just for You, was performed by Queensland Youth Orchestra. Highly involved with various music events in university, KayKay was designated Music Director and Conductor in Fenner Hall musical, Mamma Mia!, in 2021.

Exceptionally passionate about music and composing, KayKay feels he has amassed great experience in varied areas of piano and performance to help all levels of student reach their goals. Whether that is composing their own music, casually playing improv, sitting AMEB exams or simply playing the classics from jazz to contemporary. KayKay brings much experience and excitement to teach at The SoundLab.
